Meditation and the Crafting of a New Self

What is the self, and how can it be transformed? These are questions that meditation traditions have explored deeply for centuries. More than simply offering solutions to modern stress and depression, these traditions suggest creative possibilities for the crafting of a new self. Miguel’s stories from the frontiers of science and contemplative traditions have captivated audiences worldwide.

Rewilding the Mind

While conducting research in Brazil, Miguel discovered the richness of indigenous cultures in the Brazilian Amazon, home to over 200 indigenous groups and the largest concentration of uncontacted tribes in the world. He explores how indigenous ways of knowing offer fresh insights into the existential and environmental crises of our post-industrial world, including new ways of healing the divide between mind and body.

What Are Beliefs – and Do They Matter?

We all hold beliefs, often unconsciously, that shape how we perceive the world and how we behave. Miguel’s work challenges common assumptions about belief, arguing that a deeper understanding of what we believe can both liberate us and help us find greater meaning in our lives.
